As a Chinese scroll on the landscape, we have a unique site like Tai Tam Tuk. Stretching 230 metres horizontally, the precinct comprises several historic buildings dancing on different elevations, affording a rich and diverse human experience moving through the site’s natural elements and scenery, not unlike life in a city.
This proposal opens up the once restricted area to the general public, transforming it into a real treasure for the people. Visitors, trainers, and participants will engage in a variety of activities utilising the diverse landscapes and buildings to advance everyone’s understanding of heritage, human experience, and mindfulness: we called it ‘FLOW - Centre for Holistic Experience. The overall design strategy of the Centre is to conceive the site as a place for all people. Through that a holistic experience in terms of history, nature, and healing would occur. Pathways, elevators, lift platforms, ramps, and the likes are provided not merely as a means to negotiate the landscape for access but as parts of the overall experience.
